Reasons Why a Narcissist Cannot Have a Deep Connection with Anyone
This was the short story behind the word ‘narcissist’ itself. And how the theory and disorder was named after all this. As obvious as it can be, the story revolves around how an individual can be fixated on himself and his needs to the extent that he does not see anything else. All day long they are obsessed with what they look like and what people think of them. They constantly need validation and have a dire need to be the center of attention.
In generalized terms you can say that this individual thinks he is superior to everyone else and constantly work on proving that to people even though sometimes they do not even sense. They are not just fixed on themselves, they want that everyone around them should do the same. They are constantly seeking approval and want to be admired for how great they are. And if an individual has these characteristics, you can only imagine how difficult it would be for them to deal with rejection.
If an individual has these traits it’s evident that they would give a very difficult time to anyone in a relationship – be it of any nature. But they are the most challenging when it comes to a romantic relationship. As we all know that a relationship and its success is based on how equal and content it is. In a case this, if one person constantly requires attentions and validation – its gets difficult. It is a one way road and in the case where these people do not get what they want, the abuse starts. Such a relationship can never be successful as they expect it to be one way and think they deserve special treatment.
